New Solar Incentives from PG&E

This is big news for anyone that has, or is interested in getting, a solar PV system for their home or business. Even with my very recently installed system, any excess electricity generated over the course of a year is basically just given to PG&E for them to profit from. This basically encourages people to size the system based only on their usage, and also de-incentivizes further reductions in electricity use. But new laws may change this where PG&E will actually PAY YOU for excess generated electricity.

New Solar PV System Up and Running

Just got the new solar PV system up and fully functional yesterday afternoon and was pleased to see the electric meter already running backwards. A big shout out to the gang and Solarponics, very professional every step of the way, including financing and all the paperwork with PG&E, permits, everything. I can even check in on how the system is performing from anywhere with my iPhone. Amazing.

There's never been a better time to do this with the combination of the California and Federal governments essentially paying for half the system outright, and financing the rest of it will cost half of what I have been paying for electricity every month for the last year. Even going full term on the financing still leaves 10 years of warranteed life on the system and free electricity. Projected savings over the 25 year warranteed life of the panels is over $180,000. Really a no-brainer.

Major revamp of my informational website not quite completed but have most of the main pages ready to go. Good way to point potential clients to answers to the same questions everyone asks.

After a long haul to a permit, including a Coastal Commission appeal, the Pasadena Drive project is starting to really take shape and looking great thanks in no small part to a visionary, unimaginably patient client and the wonderful and dedicated people of Ross Construction. It is the rare project like this that makes it all worth it.
